Already one quarter of a century and not a single wrinkle!

For 25 years, this race is the occasion for the ministes to sail to for the others to dream. The Mini Fastnet, created in 1985 on the Mini Class’ initiative (called at the time “Voiles 6.50) is the second event of the circuit after the “Mini Transat”. 25 years later, the Mini Fastnet ranks as a main and mythic race.
Organised for 9 years by the Winches Club, this fantastic return-trip as far as the Fastnet lighthouse keeps on attracting the sailors. No less than 74 duos ( 146 racers on regattas ) will be on the starting lines of this anniversary edition.

“ June 2010, regattas in Douarnenez “ : it can be the ministes’ slogan. This year, it will be the 6th edition of the MAP trophy and it has already become a “classic” of the circuit. As for the Mini Fastnet which will celebrate its 25th anniversary, it is always a pleasure for the racers to take part in it and to honour it with their presence. In 2010, the mini fleets of the MAP trophy and the ones of the Mini Fastnet are being replaced, a new cycle begins...

From May 31st to June  5th, 55 single-handed racers are to be expected in Douarnenez to sail the 200 miles of the tactical sprint race of the MAP trophy. All the more, from June ...

2010 : The year of the 25th Mini Fastnet

Already one quarter of a century or the life in front of us ? 25 years later and because of the tyranny of the decimal system, we cannot avoid asking that question but when it deals with a sporting event, we are forced to admit its lasting quality. The “ministes” and the members of the Winches Club are working on this 25th edition.

As Charles Aznavour sings in one of his famous songs “ I tell you about a time that teenagers cannot know about “... we can say that the “Mini-Fastnet” is the oldest race of the Mini sailing circuit in France. Bob Salmon, the founder of the “concept ...
